The Brit Soap HSB Cutter is a high-speed rotary cutting machine designed for cutting toilet soaps, laundry soaps, detergent bars, and deodorising blocks extruded from the Duplex Vacuum Plodder.
Positioned directly after the plodder extruder, the machine receives the continuous soap bar and cuts it into bars of predefined length before the next stage of the finishing line.
Thanks to its precision rotary blade mechanism and advanced electronic control system, the HSB Cutter delivers clean, orthogonal cuts even at high production speeds, ensuring consistent bar dimensions and smooth downstream processing.
Soap Cutting processs
The soap billet exits continuously from the plodder nose cone and moves directly onto the HSB Cutter conveyor, aligned with the extruder outlet.
An encoder measures the billet speed and length in real time. Once the preset bar length is reached, the encoder sends a cutting signal.
The rotary blade assembly, driven by a high-speed servo motor, rotates through the billet and produces a precise cut.

The HSB cutting unit consists of a high-speed rotary blade driven by a servo motor, specially designed to deliver clean and precise cuts at high throughput rates. The machine is built to be flexible and compact in design and deliver a high output. The cutting assembly, length detection unit, and electrical control panel are mounted on a robust base frame with wheels, enabling easy positioning and integration within the soap finishing line.A roller-driven encoder ensures accurate measurement of billet movement, allowing precise control of bar length during continuous extrusion. It is also integrated with advance electronic control system via a touchscreen PLC interface that allows the operator to:
Set cutting length (datum length)
Start or stop machine operation
Select operating modes
Monitor production parameters
Guides and cutting parameters can be adjusted to accommodate different bar sizes.
The machine offers dual operating modes
The HSB Cutter can be equipped with engraving or embossing rollers to imprint logos or brand names directly onto the extruded soap billet. This allows soap bars to be branded before cutting, eliminating the need for a separate stamping process for laundry soaps. For very large scale productions, a twin lane cutter is available with a minimum gap of 450mm.
